Contractor Jailed after Roof Death
Comet Group Plc contracted Steven Smith, who was director of Wrexham Roof Services Ltd, to clear guttering and replace leaking roof lights at its store in Wrexham. Smith had sub-contracted Paul Alker, 33, to help carry out the repairs.

The HSE releases figures showing that he number of people killed at work in Britain in 2009 / 2010 is 31% lower than the average figure for the last 5 years. The record low figure of 151 is down from 178 in the previous year.
